ABOUT

Melchior de Lucia is a stunning colt with a lot of presence.

The sire of this black pearl is none other than Mylord Carthago.
During his sports career, Mylord achieved great success under the saddle of Penelope Leprovost. In breeding, he has proven to pass on his fantastic genes and quality to his offspring. With 46 approved sons and 61 horses competing at the 1.60m level or higher (including five at 1.65m and five at 1.70m), this stallion has been in the top 5 of the WBFSH Sire ranking for show jumping horses for four years.

On the dam's side, Melchior descends from the foundation mare Wisma, who is the mother of Cassini I, Cassini II, Clarimo, and others. Wisma was bred to Esteban XX for blood and then further with Quantum and Cornet Obolensky, leading to Mylord and finally to the handsome Melchior de Lucia. The daughters of Quantina LVB (second dam: mare by Quantum) have all been used in breeding, creating a relatively young line but with some very promising young horses. Unfortunately, her two oldest sons died during rearing.

Melchior is the first foal out of the four-year-old Clarima vd Holsteinerhoeve, who showed great promise in free jumping as a two-year-old and is fully approved by RX. This past winter, she was broken in and will begin her sports career after her next foal.

In short, Melchior de Lucia has everything needed to shine in the ring and possibly even in breeding, thanks to his fantastic genes. His gentle character, easy canter, and beautiful modern type would also make him a standout as a hunter.
